Dear colleagues!

We are pleased to announce that the 19th Biennial Joint Meeting of the International Academy of Periodontology (IAP) and the Croatian Society of Periodontology (HPD) will take place from September 28-30, 2023 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The International Academy of Periodontology (IAP) was founded in 1985 to globally promote science and information from the field of Periodontology by creating and consolidating international cooperation with national and international periodontal societies and research groups. The mission of IAP is to spread the research and clinical practice of periodontology across the globe and among other dental and medical fields. Through this mission, IAP creates and coordinates outstanding presentations during its biannual scientific meetings, bringing the experts together with the local and regional leaders and trainees of periodontology. IAP promotes international exchanges between nations to contribute to the advancement of periodontal health globally. The academy disseminates by means of publications and educational meetings theories and new scientific and clinical developments in periodontology.

Every two years, IAP organizes an international congress. For the first time, this congress will be held in Croatia offering a program with worldwide renowned speakers in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. State of the art lectures focusing on etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal diseases, non-surgical periodontal treatment concept, regenerative periodontal surgery, mucogingival periodontal surgery, prevention and treatment of peri-implant diseases, bone regeneration, and implants will provide the participants with predictable, evidence-based treatment concepts for the management of periodontal and peri-implant conditions.

The congress also includes pre-congress seminars and courses focusing on soft tissue regeneration, decontamination of infected implant surfaces, treatment of peri-implantitis, periodontal regeneration, use of hyaluronic acid in GBR, digital treatment planning in implantology and implants in patients with history of periodontitis.

All participants will have the opportunity to present their research in the form of posters. Undergraduate and post-graduate students are encouraged to participate in a poster competition.

The Congress will be held in the beautiful and exciting city monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is without a doubt one of Europe’s most fashionable destinations. Steeped in history and virtually unchanged since the 13th century, the Old City provides a fascinating distraction from the everyday business. Add to that a mild Mediterranean climate all year round and direct flights from over 50 European hubs, and it’s easy to see why Dubrovnik is such a popular choice for combining business with pleasure.

We are looking forward to welcome you at this scientific event in the wonderful city of Dubrovnik!
